How They Are Built

The feeders are built from solid eastern white cedar, western red cedar, eastern white pine and red or Norway pine. All wooden parts are made by me in my shop including the tiny western red cedar shingles. They all create beautiful, appealing, bird tested designs as evidenced by the thousands I have sold.

Where feeders have see-through hoppers real recycled glass is used.  As this material costs me little the value of the glass is not figured in the price of the feeders. No plastic is used in any of my feeders. All are designed so that the glass is easily replaced in case of breakage.

Galvanized fasteners and exterior glue are used throughout my product line.

None of my feeders are painted, stained or coated with any finish. Many of my customers want to use their own colors. I recommend a good exterior stain, not paint, on all of them if you desire.  Clear, non-pigmented material, can be used if the wood color patterns of the feeder you have received appeal to you.   Please be sure to follow the directions on the container for best results.  You can also leave the feeder unfinished. Then you can expect the wood to weather to a beautiful silver gray.

These items are solid and heavy therefore the high freight costs
